There will be a prize for the best ‘wonky’ vegetable.
There will also be a special award for the best any vegetables or fruit grown by a child.
Previously, flower arranging has been very popular and in response to demand it will be returning, with the likely categories comprising; 5 stems of a single flower, a ‘teacup arrangement’ and an arrangement of 5 culinary herbs.
‘Preservists’ and ‘Bakers’ are also advised to stand by their sourdough or pickled walnuts, as competiitions for them will include; best jam, chutney, cheese scones and celebration cakes.
There will be loads of stuff for children to do, free of charge, including; decorating a scarecrow, icing a gingerbread person and a chance to display their own artistic endeavours.
The Kelsale-cum-Carlton of ‘yore’ will be on display with photographs and pictures loaned by residents…and there will also be an exhibition of art from local artists.
A bric a brac sale will accompany the afternoons events including clothes, books and other items.
No village event would be complete without ample opportunity to consume vast amounts of cream teas, cake and a cuppa or two!
