Kelsale Village Hall

Kelsale Village Hall – Kelsale Village Hall Management Committee will soon have their own website. Please go to www.kelsalevillagehall.co.uk

Kelsale Village Hall is a Grade II listed building forming a very attractive centrepiece to the village of Kelsale.  It consists of two floors. On the ground floor is the Committee room and the Social Club. Within the Committee room is the Post Office which is open on a Wednesday morning from 8.30 to 12.00 noon.  There is a small kitchen to the side of the room suitable for providing drinks and light snacks. The capacity of the Committee room is 30 people.

Our Village Hall has served the community well since 1891 when it was donated by George Davies the Rector. It was built as a reflection of the Guildhall which dates from 1495. Today, it continues to serve the community of Kelsale-cum-Carlton as a venue for many Village activities and as a focus for events.

The Village Hall Committee members have spent many hours and raised large sums of money with Spring and Autumn Fairs, Quiz Nights, Art Exhibitions, Jumble Sales, Music Evenings and Open Garden events to refurbish the hall. It is equipped with most of the things you would need for any social event or entertainment.

The current activities are many & varied and include:

Afternoon Club                       (2nd & 4th Tuesdays 2 – 4pm)

Art Group                               (Thursdays 7 – 9pm)

Carpet Bowls                          (Wednesdays 7-9pm)

Coffee Mornings                     (Wednesday & Friday 10 – 11am)

Any of our clubs would be glad to welcome new members. For contact details of each group, please look on the notice board on the outside wall of the building.

The Hall is also used regularly by The Parish Council and The Masons.

We host the community Post Office once a week on Wednesday mornings 8.30 – 12.00. This coincides with a Coffee Morning and Parish Council surgery, so come along, get your stamps etc., talk to a councillor and enjoy a good chat over a cup of tea or coffee – what could be nicer?

There is a fully licensed Social Club, which always welcomes new members: open on Wednesday to Sunday evenings, 8pm till 11pm, and Sunday lunchtime, 12 till 3.30pm. There is also a “Singaround” on the 4th Tuesday of the month starting at 8pm.

Finally there is always the opportunity to book for that special occasion, be it a children’s birthday party, a community meeting, wedding or funeral…just call the booking line on 07582 869206…rates are competitive and service is always friendly!
